[...] In October of 2000, an airline passenger requested accommodations for her pig, which she said was a service animal, to accompany her on an American Airlines flight. The passenger also said the pig weighed only 13 pounds, but when it boarded it was clear that the porcine passenger was several hundred pounds. Maybe the fact that the owners purchased three first class seats for the pig should have been a tipoff. The pig caused chaos on the flight, running up and down the aisles and bothering other passengers. Four attendants wrestled the pig off the plane at its destination, but it then escaped and had to be chased through the airport. Nowadays, the only pig you are liable to see at an airport passenger terminal is on the menu. [...]

Maybe the barbecue pork sandwich is the thing to have here. I bought three and just finished eating the last a couple of days later. Even leftover, it was good--smoky without tasting artificial, authentic and not stewed, and in no need of sauce at all (so I haven't tried the sauce). On my outbound trip, I tried a barbecue sandwich from another place at the Charlotte airport before I found this one, and this one was considerably better, though the other one wasn't bad. I guess it's hard to get really bad barbecue in North Carolina, if you like the style, and I do.

Must have had a bad batch because I'm here and just had one now and it was great. Much better than most airport food!

8/20
I am at Charlotte airport and just tried Carolina Pit BBQ. The look,
smell and line of customers looked good. I love brisket and was happy
to see a brisket platter with 2 sides on the menu ($10). In a word, it was awful!
It was, without a doubt, the toughest, tasteless meet I think I have ever
tried to eat (maybe a tie for a Beef Rendong I had in a village in
Sumatra, Indonesia 25 years ago!).

I'll agree with your comments on the pickle. It was the highlight.

if I try this place again, I'll only go for the chopped pork sandwich.

I would not bother writing this if I did feel strongly about warning other people.

still hungry...
